At RecPoker.com we define SPAM messages as messages that are posted solely to promote a single user's benefit and not the community as a whole. This includes messages promoting affiliate programs, affiliate based websites, off topic products and services, specific on/offline poker rooms.
RecPoker will continuously monitor, seek out, and remove spammers who openly violate the following well established rules of the rec.gambling.poker community.
From the rec.gambling FAQ: "...some leeway may be permitted for software and books that are gambling related, especially if special discounts are offered to the rec.gambling community. Long ads are simply not appropriate. Frequent posting of ads is also not appropriate -- once a month is often enough." We understand at times other users may request an affiliate link or promotional offer from other users. In most cases this is fine as it was solicited by another user. Abuse occurs when users create multiple threads for the sole purpose of promoting an affiliate link/program or an affiliate based website.
Our policy is to disable accounts that abuse our system in this manner. Although RecPoker.com is not now or will ever be in the business of moderating or filtering rec.gambling.poker, it is our responsibility to monitor and manage RecPoker.com users and, to take any appropriate actions we see fit in cases of abuse. We are not responsible for what is posted from other newsreaders. Rec.gambling.poker was built to create a community for open discussions about poker - allowing players to ask their questions, express their opinions, and help each other - not for spam.
If you see what you perceive to be spam at RecPoker.com, please forward it immediately to abuse@recpoker.com. We will take immediate action upon receipt of your complaint. If you have any further questions about our no-spam policy, please write us at feedback@recpoker.com.
